I couldn't let another day pass without letting you know how thankful I am for making the wedding of my dreams a reality. Everything was incredible - the food, venue, event flow, staff, you name it - it was perfect! Kimie sent over a preview gallery and I am just in awe at how amazing the venue photographed. The food was divine - I received many compliments on the cocktail hour offering and of course, the dinner. Your staff went above and beyond to ensure we had smooth service throughout the event - they were so kind and accommodating.


I also want to give a special shoutout to you, Maria. You were an absolute delight to work with. Every question was answered promptly and thoroughly, you always had a friendly demeanor and you never seemed too busy to talk to me, despite what I know must be a very full schedule. You made me feel like I was your only bride and that I was the most important event. Working in the industry, I know how stressful things can be but you never let it show. Instead, you lead with kindness and your passion shows through in everything you do. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to get to know you and for you to have been such a big part of my special day.

The best wedding venue in RVA! I can not say enough about our daughter’s wedding reception at the John Marshall Ballrooms. Everything was fantastic! From the communications with Maria and Tyler, the food, the wait staff, the set up of the ballroom- I could go on. I have not one complaint about the evening - everything was wonderful! Thank you so much to all of you for making this special occasion just perfect!

THANK YOU so much for everything you did for us and our wedding as soon as I possibly could! I truly cannot thank you all enough, it was absolutely beautiful! The catering team was ON IT regarding getting food out in a timely fashion, I rarely work a wedding where the food gets out on schedule but I don't think I have ever worked one where the food got out ahead of schedule, that was truly amazing!! Everyone has kept raving about how beautiful the venue was and how it was exactly what they pictured for a 'Kristy wedding' so that was a great feeling lol. But seriously, you two made it so easy to plan and I appreciate all your help planning and accommodating my requests and changes!

We had a wonderful wedding experience with the John Marshall. Maria and Tyler are phenomenal at their jobs. They knew what questions to ask exactly when they should be asked. Maria truly loves a wedding- and her work ethic shows because of it. We had prompt email contact, numerous revisions of contracts and total understanding as our guest numbers shifted. Maria calls her clients “her kids” because that’s the level of service you are getting. When we had a security issue, she pulled through again. We requested a queso fountain; they secured a company. So many things that just made our planning easier! The value for money here is also incredible. The catering is amazing. And catering staff- just everything. We cannot recommend this place more! Thank you all SO much!

I wanted to send you an email to thank you for all of the amazing work you and the rest of your team put into our wedding. I have gotten SO many compliments from wedding guests about everything. I know it wasn't easy coming into this at the beginning of the year and juggling 2 brides on the same day, but you really handled it with grace. I felt like you were always there to make sure things were going smoothly, and that you were equally focused on both of us. Working with the John Marshall staff was an excellent experience! Planning a wedding during a pandemic was difficult, but the John Marshall staff made everything so much easier. Maria was amazing! She took over in the middle of the planning process and made sure we had everything that we desired. She was so easy to work with and made the process seamless.

On our wedding day, the staff was absolutely amazing! They made sure that we had no concerns. We would highly recommend couples utilize this historic venue. It is beautiful inside and out. The John Marshall staff made our wedding a day that we will never forget!
